Charleston Insider's Guide > Restaurants & Dining > Barbeque (BBQ) Restaurants

No trip to Charleston would be complete without experiencing the taste of some good old South Carolina barbeque. South Carolina is unique in the fact that there are several different sauce options to choose from. Mustard based sauces are most prevalent but tomato, vinegar, and pepper based sauces are also usually available. Unlike Memphis and Kansas City, almost all barbeque in South Carolina is pork based, and the style of cooking is not important. There is much debate in Charleston about who serves the best barbeque, and we can’t decide either. So without further ado here are top choices for the best BBQ in the city. Try a few and see which one you like best.
