Ghost and Dungeon Tours - This guided tour of Charleston’s Haunted Historic District investigates supernatural activity in some cemeteries and churches, but those are not the highlights of this tour. Bulldog is the only ghost tour company in Charleston with access to the Provost Dungeon in the Old Exchange Building. This site should not be explored by the faint-hearted. Several accounts of past visitors allege that they have heard chains rattling and seen them move unassisted. This dungeon housed hundreds of hopeless captives in the colonial days. Most died while in captivity; some from disease and starvation, others from drowning in the waterlogged pits where they were held.
Tour times- 7pm and 9pm nightly (1.5 hrs)
Cost- $17 adults $8 children (ages 7-12)
Ghost and Graveyard Tour - Another of Bulldog’s exclusive tours, the Ghost and Graveyard Tour is the only of gaining access to the oldest graveyards in Charleston AFTER THE SUN GOES DOWN! Read the headstones and learn the history of hundreds of renowned and recognized figures buried more than a century ago. Step across a grave if you have the courage.
Tour times- 7:30pm and 9:30pm nightly (1.5 hrs)
Cost- $17 per person
Haunted Jail Tour - The Old City Jail was in operation from 1802 until 1939 and in that time it housed 19th century pirates, civil war prisoners including several members of the 54th Massachusetts battalion who were awaiting trial in 1863 for deserting the Confederate Army. Most of the cells as well as the warden’s quarters are sill in tact and can be entered during the tour. This is one of Charleston’s most popular tours, however it is also said that this could be the most frightening of all of the tours offered.
Tour times- 7pm 8pm 9pm 10pm nightly (45 minutes)
Cost- $13 adult $8 child
Dark Side of Charleston Tour - During this tour you will hear aspects of Charleston’s history that you will not find in any text book. The city’s dark history is uncovered through tales of scandal and corruption. Discover the lost legends of prostitutes and brothels in early society. Although this may not be the scariest of tours, you may never look at Charleston the same again.
Tour times- 8pm and 10pm nightly (1.5 hr)
