The Original Charleston Walk

The Charleston Walk takes you on foot around some of Charleston’s most prominent buildings and areas of rich history. Included are Charleston’s oldest churches, Ft. Sumter and the High Battery, Dock Street Theater, the Old Powder Magazine, John C. Calhoun’s grave, the Charleston Harbor, and various historic mansions and house museums. Also learn about Charleston’s role in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars and the impact they had on one of America’s oldest cities. Charleston has also endured earthquakes, hurricanes, fires, depressions, a slave insurrection, and several plagues. Discover what Charlestonians are doing today to preserve what remains from centuries of history. This two hour walking tour takes you through a mile and a half of Charleston’s most historically significant districts, capturing the cultural legacy of the city.

Tour time- 10:00 am daily
Cost- $18.95 adult $10.95 children (ages 7-14)
