Patriot's Point 4th of July Celebration July 4th, 2007
866.831.1720
Charleston played a fundamental role in the Revolutionary War, and ultimately the independence of this nation. It is no surprise that this patriotic city hosts an extravagant 4th of July celebration. In 2006 more than 30,000 people arrived at the National Carrier Aviation Museum to observe the holiday and watch a spectacular display of fireworks. The colorful presentation is launched from the deck of the Yorktown Aircraft Carrier and can be seen reflecting in the waters. Live music accompanies the fireworks for an all-inclusive experience. Also taking place during the 4th of July holiday is the Picnic on the Harbor at the Riverside Terrace, sponsored by the South Carolina Aquarium. Bring your blanket and reserve a place to watch the fireworks while you enjoy seasonal southern soul food and refreshments. Charleston is one of very few places you can celebrate a National Holiday so patriotically while surrounded by such a relevant, rich history.
